Methow Trails invites everyone to come out for a day of FREE winter trail access. Try cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or fat biking for the first time or introduce a friend to the experience you love!
All 200+km of Methow Trails are open this day for free cross-country skiing, fat bike access on the fat bike trails, snowshoeing on the snowshoe trails and dog access on the dog trails! Join us at our new property to enjoy free beginner group ski lessons, fatbike demos, groomer rides, and treats from 10-12pm at 21 Horizon Flats Rd.
Free ski rentals
–Cascades Outdoor Store: Free ski rentals available on a first come, first served basis. Opens 9:30am on Friday.
–Methow Cycle & Sport: Free rentals of skis,hoks, and snowshoes; reservations recommended.
Free fat bike demos
Methow Cycle and Sport will be offering free fatbike demos at the Methow Trails headquarters from 10am-12pm. No reservations required!
Free ski lessons
Free group beginner ski lessons (skate and classic) at 10:00am and 10:30am at the Methow Trails property (21 Horizon Flats) in Winthrop courtesy of Sun Mountain Activities Shop and Methow Valley Ski School. No pre-registration required, just show up a few minutes early.

Ever wondered what one of our big red PistenBully snowcats looks like up close? Kids can sit in the drivers seat and see what the world looks like from the perspective of a groomer! Then come enjoy some free treats and hot drinks. Festivities will be from 10am-12pm on Friday at our headquarters at 21 Horizon Flats Rd. We’ll also have some Methow Trails merchandise for sale in the office.
