Stargazing
October 3 @ 8:00 pm - October 3 @ 10:00 pm
You don’t need a guide to enjoy the night sky at Sun Mountain Lodge, where exceptionally dark skies and a remote North Cascades location create ideal conditions for stargazing. Intentionally designed down-lighting helps preserve the darkness, while the First Quarter Moon gives way to even darker skies later in the evening. On clear nights, you may spot celestial wonders like the Andromeda Galaxy, Ring Nebula, Dumbbell Nebula and Double Cluster. For the best experience, settle in with a chair or blanket, give your eyes 20–40 minutes to adjust, and watch as the Milky Way reveals itself in remarkable detail.
