National Trails Day:
Celebrating Trails in the Methow

Sun Mountain Lodge, Winthrop, WA
Get outside and celebrate the beauty of the Methow Valley! People of all experience levels and abilities are invited to participate in a range of activities.

Schedule of Events (subject to change)
All activities begin and end at Sun Mountain Lodge.
8:30 – 10:00 a.m. – Trails Day Morning Reception at Sun Mountain Lodge
9 – 10:00 a.m. – The Mountaineers hikes depart
Hikes include:
HIKE OPTION 1 FULL DAY:  Leaves at 9 AM. Total mileage: 13 miles, elevation gain 2200 feet. Includes all or parts of Kraule, Beaver Pond, Chickadee, Magpie, Radar Creek, Patterson Lake, Patterson Mountain, Winthrop, Black Bear, and Moose trails. 
HIKE OPTION 2 FULL DAY:  Leaves at 9:30 AM. Total mileage: 8.5 miles, elevation gain 1800 feet. Includes all or parts of Kraule, Beaver Pond, Chickadee, Cabin Trail, Patterson Mountain, Lakeview, and Sunnyside trails.
 HIKE OPTION 3 HALF DAY-AM:  Leaves at 10 AM. Total mileage: 2.5 miles, elevation gain 600 feet. Includes all or parts of Moose, Grizzly Hill (west), Black Bear, Hough Homestead, and Kraule trails. This particular loop has an initial drop of about 250 feet of elevation in a short while.
 HIKE OPTION 4: HALF DAY-PM:  Leaves at 2 PM. Total mileage: 3 miles, elevation gain 650 feet. Includes all or parts of Kraule, Hough Homestead, Rodeo, Heifer, Beaver Pond, Short Cut, and Sunnyside trails. A three mile loop with great variety (ridge top, forests, water and open hillsides).
Dinner Break: optional Cowboy BBQ Dinner available at Lodge. 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. $47/person + gratuity & tax.  Reservations required.
Presentation by Don Portman:   Day Hikes in the North Cascades; at Sun Mountain Lodge, 8:00 p.m.
